JEWELRY CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Pearls:
You should protect your pearls from all cosmetic and chemical products such as: deodorants, perfumes, creams, chlorine, detergents, etc. Pearls should also be protected from strong heat and sunlight, otherwise they may lose their shine. Avoid damage to your pearls by storing them in a fabric bag, preferably separate from other jewelry.
Silver jewelry:
Silver can oxidize when it comes into contact with air and thus tarnish. Frequent contact with cosmetics, chlorine or sweat can also promote tarnishing.
Silver is a soft metal that can scratch. You can restore its shine in no time by polishing it. Cleaning cloths and pastes are ideal for the optimal care and cleaning of your silver jewelry. If you are not going to wear it for a while, you should store the silver piece in a dry place protected from sunlight.
Stainless steel jewelry:
Basically, stainless steel jewelry is very easy to care for and robust. You can basically wear your stainless steel jewelry around the clock. Even when showering and exercising and of course overnight. Contact with creams, perfumes, etc. is also no problem for stainless steel. If the piece comes into contact with sweat, chlorine or salt water, we recommend rinsing it with clean water afterwards, as the surface could be damaged over time.
Gold-plated silver jewelry:
[Our gold-plated pieces are electroplated and have an 18k gold layer (layer thickness approx. 0.5 micrometers).]
Experience shows that the gold layer wears off over time. To avoid excessive abrasion, you should take off your gold-plated pieces before exercising, showering, cleaning and also at night. Contact with cosmetic and chemical products of all kinds (e.g. deodorants, perfume, creams, chlorine, cleaning products, etc.) should be avoided as the gold layer could react with them and dissolve more quickly. Frequent contact with sweat can also shorten the lifespan of the gold coating. When polishing, avoid applying too much pressure, scratchy micro-cloths and cotton. If you are not wearing the gold-plated piece, store it in a dry place protected from sunlight.
If the gold plating begins to fade, we recommend having the piece re-gilded by a jeweler rather than replacing it completely.
Note:
It should be noted that pieces of jewelry that you wear every day also wear out faster because they are often exposed to the outside world and this can cause damage. Your Urban Pieces jewelry is a quality (fashion) piece of jewelry. It should accompany you in your daily life. For this very reason, give it a break at night. Place your pieces in a suitable jewelry storage overnight. The next morning, they will be ready to accompany you on your next experience. Proper care is important so that you can enjoy your jewelry for a long time.
